Use this guide to see a quick demonstration of SwapKeys.
- Run the SwapKeys Program.
- Choose the "Keyboard Hot Keys" option
- Choose the "Alphabetic Keys" option.
- Find the column listed as "Ctrl" and double click in this column where the row with the letter A intersects the column.
- A list of characters and a list of keyboard keys will appear. Choose ® and click on the "Select Character" button.
- Run the Windows "notepad" program (Click on Start, select run option and type in notepad and press the OK button.)
- In notepad, hold down the CTRL key and press the A key.
- Release the keys and the symbol ® should appear.
- Run the SwapKeys Program.
- Choose the "Keyboard Remapper" option.
- Double click on the capital letter A.
- A list of available characters for remapping will appear. Choose ä and click on the OK button.
- Run the Windows "notepad" program (Click on Start, select run option and type in notepad and press the OK button.)
- In notepad, type a capital letter A (hold the shift down and press the A key)
- The letter ä should appear instead of a capital A.
