Use this guide to see a quick demonstration of SwapKeys.

Keyboard Hot Keys

1. Run the SwapKeys Program.
2. Choose the "Keyboard Hot Keys" option
3. Choose the "Alphabetic Keys" option.
4. Find the column listed as "Ctrl" and double click in this column where the row with the letter A intersects the column.
5. A list of characters and a list of keyboard keys will appear. Choose ® and click on the "Select Character" button.
6. Run the Windows "notepad" program (Click on Start, select run option and type in notepad and press the OK button.)
7. In notepad, hold down the CTRL key and press the A key.
8. Release the keys and the symbol ® should appear.

Keyboard Remapper

1. Run the SwapKeys Program.
2. Choose the "Keyboard Remapper" option.
3. Double click on the capital letter A.
4. A list of available characters for remapping will appear. Choose ä and click on the OK button.
5. Run the Windows "notepad" program (Click on Start, select run option and type in notepad and press the OK button.)
6. In notepad, type a capital letter A (hold the shift down and press the A key)
7. The letter ä should appear instead of a capital A.
